State of Things, Late October

Good Monday Morning Gamers,

I thought I'd take a few minutes and give you guys an update on the state of things, and where the project will be going from here.

First off, as those of you that were following the Kickstarter know, the funding project fell far short and failed. I send out my warmest thanks to the few brave souls that made pledges. If any of you Pledgers are around, feel free to message me and I'll make sure that you at least get a little "thank you" gift for trying.

Yet, that does, unfortunately, mean that my original goal of a December release is out the window :(

So, with that lack of funding I've had to rethink and restructure how to continue moving forward. Many have recommended that I try "GoFundMe" or a Patreon site, since those are not dependent on reaching a goal, and I will actually receive whatever funds are contributed.

While we're talking funding, I want to respond to some of the feedback for why people were hesitating with the Kickstarter. It's very true that I don't have a track record for completing a game, since this is my first gaming title, but I *do* have a track record for completing major projects. A quick search of Amazon or Google for "Jackson Cordd" (or "Jax Cordoba" for my YA titles), will show some of the novels and novella series that I have completed and published over the years.

With all that in mind, my goals for the next month are to get Discord and Patreon channels set up. I will provide links here for you guys when that is completed. Once those are in place, I will revisit the fund-raising site idea.

As for the game itself, it honestly hasn't progressed much with my recent focus on fund-raising. But while I was keeping an eye on Kickstarter, I spent some time looking at other games, so I could scope out the competition.  With intimidating titles like Ergi, Dead Dating, Monster Ops, and Hunky City out there, the bar is set fairly high for what is required to create a high-quality title.

Thankfully, I'm not easily intimidated.

In fact, I've had some new ideas for how to structure the game for less of the Visual-Novel and more of an RPG feel, to give an even better experience for the player.

Oh, and I'm still trying to secure a primary artist, someone who's willing and able to tackle the huge project. If you are an artist, or know of one, looking for work, please contact me at  jaxcordd@mail2sky.com

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. Time to get back to work.

TL/DR:
Kickstarter Failed, so release TBD; look forward to new Discord and Patreon Channels; game restructuring to add more RPG elements; looking for Primary Artist.
